Life is a short gift. We never know when Creator will take back our breathe yet i can't think of anything other than my gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life.

Waiting For The Change

From Google

It has been a long time back since I have seen the early morning rising sun. The beauty in morning seems much better than the late night, with birds twittering their welcome note and trees spelling out their fresh oxygen.

Well how often does a college student enjoy the morning charm? Within four years of my life in college I hardly did that. Today my phone rang at 5:50 am, though I was disturbed at first but it helped me to embrace the beauty of morning which I have missed for over years now.

Let me tell what I observed, right after I come of my hostel gate the college environment seemed very green with dew drops hanging from grass glistering the sunlight. The air I breathe was an extraordinary gift from the environment; it made me see things in brighter way. The moment I came out of my hostel, I saw the day in its full swing. Money never sleeps; the newspaper delivery man was busy cycling round the hostels issuing the paper. Till last semester I used to access newspaper and by the time I wake up it already used to be in my room waiting to convey its fresh news and current affairs items going on within a society and the world as a whole. I was in midst of my peaceful sleep when the day has already overtaken the night, that is the reason I know today why I have not seen the delivery man slipping the newspaper into my room. I need to change; if not I am going to miss so many bigger parts of this world.

The world that I am part of has never slept; it is just that I have been sleeping a lot.

Within a week I am finishing my UG studies, I am excited and worried now. I am worried because I have not accumulated much knowledge during four years of my course. I feel I have learnt nothing much but there are some good moments that I am going to miss. The day I walk out of this college, things are going to be just a history that I studied in Vellore Institute of Technology (my college name). I don’t know if the job market in Bhutan will give me any opportunity to usher my abilities, but I really don’t think I would do any better if I continue my college routines till then. Sleeping like this while I am in job would make me deserve last warning at the first day.

I seriously need to change and with time cum responsibilities I hope I become a better person, if not at least a person who does last minute works to keep up with the  pace of this competitive world.

Never know what is written for my future but I am going to diligently take every step that comes my way. The other night I watched a movie which gave me a lot of inspiration. The movie ended with quote from the “Invictus”, I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul. So Am I.

Happy Teachers’ Day

Teachers’ Day in Bhutan is celebrated on May 2nd every year coinciding with the commemoration of birth anniversary of Third King of Bhutan Jigme Dorji Wangchuk who introduced modern education in Bhutan. This is the day when students offer their best wishes and gratitude to their teachers. Teachers are the luminous guide that lighted us and directed to the brighter side of this world. There are actually no equivalent words to thank them for their contributions in making us what we are today.
Third King of Bhutan

With this day taking into account, I just started recollecting all my teachers from primary schooling to till date and I am quite happy that I could remember most of them.

Do you remember your first Teacher who taught you A B C and 1 2 3? Well for me my first teacher was a madam. I have some fond memories of her. She used to often come to my home to get local commodities and my mom used to be a good friend of her. Every morning my mom use to feed me with breakfast and dress me in school uniform. But you know when you are at school, especially when you are too young,  studying your pre–primary classes, every newly admitted students used to be often naughty; playing games is the first thing in their mind. Well I used to be that kid and sometimes my uniform used to get disoriented after pushing and pulling with friends. But then this madam she used to dress me up again. This is very much care and nurture I received apart from other wholesome wisdoms she taught in class. Now I don’t know where she stays? The last time I heard of her was when she lost her only daughter almost a decade back when the guerillas in southern part of Bhutan posed threat to the sovereignty of our peaceful nation and I feel really sorry for tragic loss of her daughter. May she rest in peace.

It will be a dream comes true if I can meet my first teacher again someday.

So my friends this is the day you remember them, the teachers who changed your life. Whatever dignity you may enjoy in your life after completion of your education still they deserve every applaud because they are the one made you realize your dreams.

Teachers’ Day is celebrated in many part of the world on different occasion relating to some significant day in their country. Although at this instant I am not in my country but I would still like to join with the students in Bhutan to commemorate this day. Long live our Teachers and wish you very Happy Teachers’ Day.

Exactly a Century Back

Today is the exacted 100 years (15th, April 1912) back that the mighty Titanic struck an iceberg and sank in the north Atlantic Ocean on her maiden voyage to New York City from South Hampton, England. She carried 2,223 people of which 1,514 peoples were dead. The passenger included some of the wealthiest people in the world and other thousand emigrants from Britain and Ireland seeking a new life in North America. The ship was designed with many comfort and luxury facilities like onboard gymnasium, swimming pool, libraries, high-class restaurants and others.

The ship left for New York on 10 April 1912. On 14th April 1912, after four days into the crossing (about 375 miles = 600 km), she hit an iceberg at 11:40 pm. Over next two and half hours, the ship gradually filled with water and sand. Passengers and crew members were evacuated in lifeboats. Just before 2:20 am Titanic broke up and sank with over a thousand people still on board. The 710 survivors were taken aboard from the lifeboats by the Carpathia a few hours later.

After the disaster had happened the Public inquires in Britain and the United States lead to major improvement in maritime safety. One of their most important legacies was the establishment of the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) in 1914, which still governs maritime safety today.

The wreck of the Titanic remains in seabed. Since its rediscovery in 1985, thousands of artifacts have been recovered from the sea and put on display at museums around the world. Titanic has become one of the most famous ship in the history, her memory is kept alive by numerous books, films, exhibits and memorials.

Let’s cherish the history and pray for the lives that never made to their destination. Life is so unpredictable, yet death comes amidst the happy journey. Everything in this ephemeral world disappears eventually to an abyss of darkness yet the remains of her debris lives under thousand meters in the Ocean today. May their souls rest in peace.

In Search of Cure (the treatment he receives)

Taking leave from the organization, amidst torturing leg ache, a patient goes to hospital with an expectation if doctor could at least mitigate his pain. He meets the doctor for the second time.

On seeing the patient, doctor simply frowns. Doctor upon seeing the patient repeatedly, gets fed up with the disease (or patient) simply scolds the patients.

‘You liar?’ the doctor hollers ‘I have treated so many patients till now and I have never met a patient who lied like you.’

Patient bearing all pain answers ‘Doctor I don’t know what you are trying to say. I have come from long way paying a very high taxi fare. Who would dare to lie to consume medicine?’

Surely for an employee who survives as a guard, it is matter of great concern when he has to reserve taxi every seven days.

‘This’ doctor said looking at his swollen feet ‘is nothing but the accumulation of fluid and it bears no pain to the patient.’ Then he holds the feet and presses the swollen part so strongly that the patient almost losses his consciousness. The other patients look at each other in wonder. He is pretty sure that patients with same disease fled from the scene fearing the treatment.

‘Go to chamber 2’ the doctors ordered.

‘But then I heard the doctor is on leave’ replies the patient.

‘No he should be back by now.’

So the patient goes to chamber 2 to be received with a big lock on the door.

‘He is on two months leave’ corrects another ‘who sent you here?’

‘That doctor’ points to the doctor who sent him.

‘Go back to him; he knows very well that he won’t be back for two months’ says doctor.

Fearing for the worst treatment, he crawls to the army hospital. Reaching hospital, he finds doctor closing the door (office closure time). Understanding the seriousness of the case, doctor opens the door and treats him.

It is bit a sad thing to hear this type of story in the land which is branded with Gross National Happiness. Doctors are there to treat patients and their job is at stake without patients. By saving lives they are doing the noblest thing in the world. But then I wonder who will lie to consume medicine. Me! Not for sure.

Now he wonders where else will he go when the next pain should attack him. In fact a mild ache has already started and it is just a matter of time when he should lie unconscious in the hand of doctor.

An Adventure

We as a human being always have hopes and expectations but it never get fulfilled without the ubiquitous yet scare item called money. I really wanted to visit sea shore, well this time I had little saving after my winter vacation coz my relatives and family gifted me with some amount and I am very thankful to every one of them. So I accompanied some of my friends who were visiting Pondicherry last weekend. After much awaited and sleepless night we boarded in a bus around morning 4:00 am. I don’t have idea but then the minute I woke up we were almost near to destination.

Well in India it is everywhere like that, I mean the population is very huge and no doubt it is the world’s second largest populated country. Hundreds and millions of vehicles crossing the busy road, one has to be very careful. In the name of site seeing and place exploration one can easily loose life if we don’t keep eyes vigilant. Any ways it was nice to see varied peoples from different background of culture.

So we also rented bike, one each for every two people, after that travelling was easy. We visited sea shore and breathed fresh taste of ocean. It was amazing, simply amazing. Though it looks huge but my nerves were strong and I tried to swim along the side of beach. It was fun of course but the presence of salt was a hurdle, it made my eyes heavy to open.

Nothing amazes me more than the beauty of this Mother Nature. The way beings are created to adapt with their environment is explicitly amazing. The dolphins floating over the water surface as they voyage. The sound of waves washing the shore is soothing and unending supply of fresh air from waves that flushes to and fro is wrath healing. The sea fern look evergreen with perpetual drizzling from ocean. Even the sky looked happy with many animated like clouds flying slowly and aimlessly.

Around evening we booked a lodge nearby, where we could hear sea waves making to shore. After dinner we went for fun ride in the city but it was a bad experience I should say, it was kind a late night and the number of vehicles has comparatively lowered. One of my friend even got beating for riding in high speed, where as I had to empty my purse which was left with only few bucks as a penalty. I could see in their eyes, even the policemen that encroached our money were quite drunk; I guess they were waiting for high speed vehicles so as to make money for their drinking spree. Any ways rules are rule, they have the right to punish us.

The overall trip was very enjoyable one and I will cherish this moment. Thanks my friend for your companion, after all friendship is everything and I wish it flutters like the unending wave of the ocean.
